Understanding the New Rules to a Successful Network Marketing Business … Can you spell “Leverage”?
While it isn’t the oldest business, the “network marketing” or “multi-level marketing” business is not new either. Having a network of distributors for your product, who receive commissions in part by recruiting and mentoring others in the business, is a proven business model.
But just as with any other business, there are very few who become very successful. The reasons those few become very successful, have traditionally been very simple: They work harder, work smarter, than the other folks who aren’t successful, and they treat their business as a precious investment.
People who are successful in network marketing can easily pick out many of those who won’t be successful. They expect a great deal for very little, they don’t invest their hearts in the business, they aren’t willing to put in the effort required for success, and they give up too quickly.
There are, however, many people who do invest their hearts in the business, and who do put in the effort, and they keep at it, not giving up, yet with little result. The purpose of this article is to provide some helpful tips to those people, in the hope of changing their profits for the better. My suggestion to all of you who are really trying but just haven’t gained the success you are looking for boils down to this, now almost cliché directive: Work smarter, not harder.
With the advent of the internet, you have the ability to apply leverage in your business in ways you could have only dreamed just ten or fifteen years ago. Hordes of technically savvy entrepreneurs have created programs and services that allow you to apply this leverage. Here are just a few examples:
- Use online contact management systems to contact your prospects. There are a number of companies that provide contact management systems that will help you collect and store the names and contact information of your prospects. Not only will they store them, but through these services, you can send newsletters, emails, set up events that people can sign up for, and much more. You can even create sign up boxes on your website so that people who you’ve never even met can provide their contact information and sign up for newsletters. This service alone saves you a huge amount of time and effort inputting data into databases, creating newsletters, and doing mailings to your prospects, customers, and others.
- Use “autoresponders” to send pre-programmed emails and newsletters and predetermined times. With an autoresponderhttp://www.getresponse.com/index/u2brich, you can create a complete email marketing system so that your prospects can receive emails from you that you have pre-written, which are sent to them automatically at times of your choosing. This allows you to write your marketing program once, and use it over and over again with your prospects.
- Use article distribution services. In other articles, you’ve read about the importance of getting noticed. You can write articles, and they can be automatically posted to dozens of article publishing websites, which allow for the possibility of thousands of people to read your article, see your contact information and potentially contact you, if they have an interest in your business. This leverages your time many times over.
- Use a blog submission service. If you choose to write a blog (which in and of itself is a way of leveraging your time) there are a number of services that will post articles automatically to your blog, or if you write your blog yourself, will post your blog to search engines, automatically. Some of these services are even free, if you will put a link to their service on your blog.
- Consider the value of your time when doing things yourself. Granted, the checks you write are lower if you do everything yourself. But very often, your time spent on doing what you do best will accomplish the most. If it can be hired out to someone else while you focus on the things you do best, you will ultimately be that much more successful.
Keep In mind that there are many ways to create leverage. The suggestions above are just a few of the many ways you can use the power of the business lever, not only in your MLM or network marketing business, but any business, for that matter.

MLM is a Scam to Avoid!
"Not only is multi-level marketing a scam, it's also an embarrassing business to be in. Oh, yes, there are people who have been very, very successful in network marketing, but in order to do so, they had to get into the company at an early stage, and they had to completely annoy absolutely everyone they encountered, including friends, family, and strangers in the grocery store. Who on earth would want to be successful that way?"
These are all quotes I've either said or heard over the years. I've recently revisited my prejudices against network marketing, and I've come to a very different conclusion. Here's why:
First, Multi-level marketing, or network marketing, or direct selling (depending on what euphemism you want to use) has been used successfully in many professions for many years. The insurance industry was perhaps the first industry to use network marketing. Sales agents sell the life products, and their managers get a percentage of their sales, and the general manager gets a percentage of their sales. That's network marketing. It has also been used successfully in real estate sales and several other industries. So, network marketing is tried and true, and is a successful business model.
Second, yes, getting in early in a business certainly gives you an advantage over the others. If there are three people selling your product versus 3,000 people selling your product, you definitely have an advantage. Yet look at so many industries, such as financial planning (a network marketing model). New people enter the profession all the time who are even more successful than people who were involved early on. Why? Because they learned the techniques of effective sales, and they implemented those techniques successfully. So, like any other industry, network marketing requires the new representative to learn how others have become successful, and use those lessons effectively. This is not unlike any other business.
Finally, with the world's greatest marketplace in your grasp (the internet) it's no longer necessary to annoy all of your friends and relatives. You can effectively market to millions of people interested in starting their own businesses or purchasing your products from your laptop in your living room, and you can only market to people who want to know about your product or service. It simply requires you to learn how to effectively market on the internet. Your friends and relatives don't even need to know what you're doing (although they might get curious when they see how successful you've become).
If you've rejected the possibility of getting involved in network marketing, you might just want to take a good look again. Find a company whose products you can believe in, that gives great mentoring and support, and you may be very pleasantly surprise at the results.

How to Make Money on the Internet
If you're like most people, one of the questions is, "how in the heck do I make money on the internet?"
Good question.
Traditionally, people make money on the internet a few ways:
1. Sell Your Services. If you have a service you want to sell -- An example would be something like a "virtual assistant" who provides assistant services to business people. The internet is a perfect place to sell such services. But, you have to have the skills to be able to sell yourself on the internet. This can be expensive, and takes a lot of time. Essentially, you are still a wage-slave as you are selling your time. No problem with this, but your income will be limited.
2. Sell Your Product. You have a product they want to sell. You want to sell trading cards over the internet, or collectible smurfs, or bumper stickers. The internet can be a great place to do this. We all know about selling stuff on EBay or Craig's list, and with more and more people getting comfortable purchasing products on the internet, people are now actually earning a good living this way exclusively.
3. Participate in a Multi-level marketing program that focuses on the internet. You can participate in a multi-level marketing company and use the internet to sell the company’s products and the business opportunity that. The internet is a perfect place for this kind of business, but there are a lot of people out there trying to do the same thing, so you've got to do it right in order to make any money. And just like any other business, it takes work to find your customers on the internet.
4. Sell someone else's products. Usually, this is done through what is known as "affiliate marketing" and, if automated, can product big bucks with minimum of effort. We'll spend a great deal of time on this. For many people, this is a very attractive way to sustain an internet business, and holds a great deal of charm over the other methods.
Why sell someone else’s products? For #1 to work, you have to actually be able to provide a service. If you don’t currently have a service, you’ve got to find one, and gain the skill necessary to sell your services. This can take months and even years, depending up the service you are providing. For #2 to work, you have to have a product. And if you have a product, you have to have inventory, and you have to make trips to the post office to mail the product, and you have customer returns and complaints to deal with. You have to have a website that has a shopping cart, which means you have to take credit cards, and there’s a cost to all of this. For #3 to work you have to find the right company, and you have to distinguish yourself from the other hoards of people trying to sign everyone up to be in their downline. But in order for #4 to work, you need none of those. You don’t need a special service, you don’t have to have a product (or store it or ship it, etc.). Consequently, by selling someone else’s products, you have to focus on a few things. You have to have a great website, you have to understand how to capture prospects and communicate via email, you have to know how to build a good list, and you have to find good affiliate programs to associate yourself with. Much of the work of owning a business is eliminated with affiliate marketing, and for those who take the time to learn how to do it right, there’s great income that comes along with the business!

How to Build a Thousand Name Mailing List (Part One)
I recently went to the movies, and they were showing slides prior to the movie advertising various businesses. One of the slides was an advertisement to advertise on the slide show. It said simply, “without advertising something bad happens …. nothing!” Having coached people in business for many years, I’m often astounded at the fact that so few people budget anything substantial for advertising and marketing. The focus is always on fixtures, furnishings, inventory and such, and by the time that’s all done, there just isn’t anything left for advertising. But the business owner rationalizes this by thinking that they have such a beautiful store, such wonderful products or services, such great staff that people will somehow just know about their store and will want to shop there.
This is even more true for people who have virtual businesses on the internet. They put their money into a wonderful website, and then they just expect people will find them and buy their products or services. Recent estimates are that there are almost 30 billion websites on the internet today. Consequently, the odds of anyone finding your site just by putting it on the internet are about the same as finding intelligent life on Mars. So, in order to get visitors to your site, and more importantly, to buy your product or service, you have to find a way to get their attention. Once visitors make it to your site, your job still isn’t done. You have to turn them into customers. Very few of your visitors will purchase from you on their first visit. So the real catch is to get them to come back. In order to do this, you need to get them to give you their contact information to add to your list. Once you have a list, then you can contact your visitors and here is where you really have the opportunity to turn them into customers. We’ll talk in future articles about how to build visitors into customers, but today, let’s focus on getting them to visit your site for the first time.
Currently, people who advise business owners on increasing traffic tend to focus on four key areas. In future articles, we’ll hone in on each of these areas in great detail. Here is an overview of the four key areas.
1. Search Engine Optimization. The first and most basic tool to get people to notice your site is what is known as search engine optimization, or SEO. SEO is the art of making your website receive good ranking on the search engines. So, when people use Google or Yahoo or MSN or any of the other search engines, your website is in a high ranking. The general rule here is that if you can get in the top 5 or 10 websites listed on a search engine search, you’ll get a good percentage of the people searching that term to click on your link. There are a great number of tasks involved in search engine ranking, and you don’t have to be an expert at HTML or web development to get a good ranking. In future articles, we’ll discuss some of the basics of SEO. In the meantime, if you would like to have some links to resources to teach yourself SEO, write me or visit my website.
2. Marketing Co-ops. Over the last few years, a number of marketing co-ops have come into existence. Like any other co-op, the idea is that a large number of people combine resources to purchase goods at a discount. The good marketing co-ops will get you a piece of the marketing action for less that it would cost you to do all of the marketing, and the co-op directors do a great deal of the work for you. Keep in mind that all co-ops are not the same. Some are much much better than others. Do some research before you buy.
3. Pay Per Click (PPC) services. Even with great search engine optimization, it’s tough to get noticed above the crowd, particularly if you are marketing a product or service that there are lots of other people trying to sell along with you. All of the major search engines have PPC services in which you can purchase advertising on their website, and you pay when someone clicks on your link. Most allow you to budget how much you’ll spend per month, and to bid on clicks, which means the more you’re willing to pay, the higher placement the ad will get. PPC services, while criticized by many, when done properly can be the best of all marketing. Paying 50 cents or a dollar for a click might be expensive, but you have to calculate that in terms of what the profit will be for purchases from your site. Much like SEO the art of picking proper key words, picking proper search engines and budgeting properly is an art, but one that can be learned.
4. Traditional advertising (non-internet). Don’t overlook the possibility of using more traditional advertising methods to get visitors. As expensive as PPC can be, advertising in newspapers, magazines, direct mail, radio, and other forms of more traditional advertising can have a big pay offs.
5. Paying for visitors. There are services that promises to send visitors to your site. Many of these are coupled with advertising co-ops. Many of these, while they live up to their promises of sending visitors to your site, often send untargeted visitors, and result in very low conversion to customers. This isn’t true of all programs, but you must be very careful.
However you plan to market your products or services, you must be systematic and skilled. Plan to put a great deal of your first year’s budget toward advertising just as though you were starting a brick and mortar business. Internet businesses are no different than any other kind of business. Without advertising something bad happens for business people ….nothing.

The Seven Secrets of Millionaires
I have worked with wealthy people for the past 23 years as their estate planning attorney. Over that time, I have taught my clients a great deal about preserving their wealth, and passing it on to their heirs. As much as I have taught them, they have also taught me a great deal, as these are people who have been able to accumulate amazing amounts of money. My clients are in the top .5% of Americans as far as their net worth. In addition to listening and learning from these “wealth accumulation stars”, I’ve been taking notes. And, with their permission, I’ve started a blog to teach others what I’ve learned. The purpose of this article is to begin to share with you what I’ve learned.
We are all bombarded with books, articles, tapes, seminars, infomercials and websites promising to make you wealthy. If information was the key to becoming wealthy, there would be more millionaires per square mile than insects. So what, then are the keys to becoming wealthy? Here they are, in no particular order:
1. Begin to think like a millionaire. Millionaires believe they can and will be wealthy, and they think differently than the rest of us. Millionaires attract wealth to themselves by believing that they are worthy of wealth. The old adage, you are what you think can be updated to, “you are what you think about”.
2. Live within your means. Millionaires understand that it all begins with spending less than they make. This is where wealth accumulation starts.
3. Save. Even if it’s not a lot of money, the money left over each month needs to be saved. “Pay yourself first” and “A penny saved is a penny earned” aren’t just clichés … they are principles that when applied, produce results.
4. Use debt strategically. Millionaires see debt differently than others. Borrowing in order to have stuff before you can afford it is absolutely abhorrent to millionaires. Yet millionaires arent’ averse to borrowing, if it allows them to leverage their money.
5. Create multiple streams of income. Millionaires realize that hitting it big with one thing rarely happens. But finding multiple streams of average income is not only do-able, it’s the single best way to get rich.
6. Get the best return on your investments. Millionaires learn how to invest in a way that produces the best income with the least risk. Contrary to popular wisdom, most millionaires are risk-averse. They understand, however, that there are ways to get a better than average return on your money, without taking huge risks. They will tell you that it’s not about making a killing in the market. It’s about getting a good return and avoiding the downmarkets.
7. Understand that you must have the right perspective on wealth. Money doesn’t make you happy. It is merely a means of exchange. Happiness doesn’t’ come from your net worth, it comes from inside you. On the other hand, understand that wealth gives you the opportunity for security and comfort, which are good things.
Would you like to know how I really make my money? You owe it to yourself to take 2 minutes to go to my website: http://jedeye.com and learn how to make a living with residual income that you build from the internet. There may be a recession going on in America today, but there's no recession on the internet.

Are You Disappointed With the Money You're Making From MLM?
Many рeople have started their οwn MLM (Network Marketіng) Ьusinesses, with great hopes, aspirations, аnd dгeams of fabulous profit, only to becοme frustrated and dіsappointed that theү didn't мake the ĸind of мoney they thought they woυld make.
Sometimes, they've cһosen the wrong opportunity. Bυt vөry often, they faіl because they are using outdated marketing techniques that juѕt don't worĸ anyмore. If yoυ're one of those people, then reаd caгefully. Bөcause I ωill attөst thаt yοu can мake great money, аnd havө droves of peoplө lіning uр to ѕign up іn yοur downline. What it takes is а little hard work, a little bit of marketing money, and mostly using tһe principles of magnetic marketing, ωhich cause peoрle to come to you, ratheг than you haνing to pursυe others.
Does this sound interesting? Then read a little, and cһeck out tһe infoгmation I have to pгovide to yοu. Alѕo, you might want to take a little time to cһeck out мy websitө, and especially my MLM marketing pagө on my site. I promiѕe yoυ, іt wіll be well worth yoυr time!
Working at һome can give the freedom you want and the incoмe tһat үou deѕerve. This way, yoυ can be there for yoυr children, cook dinner, and ѕtill get in a feω hours of wοrk before bed. A ωork at home MLM business oppοrtunity can be very attractive but үou must Ьe careful to select one that workѕ for you.
Technology һas imрroved customeг serviсe, аnd relatіonships wіth MLM ωorkers and commissions сan be utilized in wayѕ not possible beforө.
All οf tһis started іn thө 1950's ωith nutritional supplements, household products, and coѕmetics. It can bө noted thаt MLM opportunities boomөd іn the 1980's wіth insuranсe and long-distance telephone serviceѕ. As the twenty-first centurү aрproached, improvөments in technology really һelped the MLM industry.
The industry has expanded into credit cards, travel, аnd pre-pаid legal servіces аready. MLM opportunitieѕ can аdapt аs technology evolves.
The combinatіon οf technolοgy and old-fashioned salesmanship makes MLM popular for everyone including those in the busineѕs world. You can earn mοney froм the down line of yοur recruits' sales and tһeir гecruits' sales and sο on.
There is no overһead if you work at home, and advertising cаn Ьe basөd on word of mouth. Therө is аlso no inventory, no collections, аnd no receivables. You do not have to ѕee thө customer, and the product is shіpped to tһem. MLM has acquired a bad reputation through media reports, but many companies including mainstream ones dο it legally аnd successfully.
Take note. When selecting а MLM bυsiness opportυnity for yοur οwn, lοok for one that has been in tһe business for а numbөr οf yearѕ. Take notө tһat many ѕcams аre οften fly-by-nіght operations.
But thіs doөs not mөan that yoυ have to avoid younger companieѕ. Look caгefully before yoυ takө a leap of faith. Make suгe that they have a good trainіng prοgram in plаce, a fair compensation plan worked out and prodυcts that һave already bөen tested for quite some time.
A hοme-based MLM opportunitү has thгee qualities; control of time and mοney, continual ѕalary, and ѕteady growth tһat multiplies. Bү trying tο cοntrol your time, үou can гeap frοm үour efforts.
When compaгing MLM opportunities, think οf youгself first. Choose а businөss that fits үour interests and talөnts. Dο not think you сan bө мolded to fit others. Examine whаt you wаnt and tһe one that is fitting to your knowledge and background. Mаny times your lifө experiences can add grөatly to а comрany’s offerings to creаte a perfөct Ьlend. Take time to select thө MLM opportunity that is rigһt for you.
Many who become involνed in a MLM business start out on a part tiмe basis. This iѕ а wise adviсe foг everүone considering the oрportunity to get into sөlf-employment.
Keeping yoυr dаy job wіll insυre adequate income to meet youг househοld and buy yoυ enοugh time to get tһe business establisһed. By keepіng your current tіes in the busіness world, you can attract theм aѕ customers to the new өndeavor you wiѕh to take.
MLM opportunities are waiting for your first chanсe tο grab them. When choosing, rememЬer that if something іs too good to be true, it рrobably is.
Many companies sky-high dreams with little else.Keep yοur witѕ when looking аt MLM oppoгtunities and yoυ will definitely land with yοur feet on the ground.
